The '41 ~ '46 Chevy trucks are very beautiful indeed , I used to own a '46 I built out of junk parts (two old trucks) , it was a good 'un , I used a '57 Chevy 235 I6 from a Passenger car in it .
The 292 was GM's very last true truck I6 engine , it was thin wall design and so very light to power ratio , long stroke so amazing torque , you just didn't want to keep it revved up all the time .
I have one I plan to put in my '69 C/10 to replace the ailing , oil burning 250 CID it has now .
I'll also up grade the most excellent TH30 tranny to the improved TH350-C tranny , this being the same tranny with a lockup torque converter to ease the RPM's on the open Highway for fuel economy and longer engine life .
