[diesel_mercedes] Cheap manual glow plug relay replacement.

Just wire a momentary switch into the cabin and get a cheap 20 amp automotive relay.  Connect it to the input of the glow plugs and now you have a manual glow plug switch.  You can run it as long or as little as you like for those hot days or cold nights.  Only difference is you have to count to three on a hot day & 10 for a cold one.  Cost you 10 bucks.  Use 10 gauge for the glows and 16 gauge for the switch.  Not hard to do.  Need to know the theory behind triggering a relay.  One 12v low amp system triggers(switch) the high amp load(glow plugs). If you just used a dumb switch it would be pitted in no time.  The relay approach reduces pitting and it lasts a long time.   All glow plugs used to be manual.  In the "good old days".  Lawrence Rhodes........
