I was looking at ETY's OnLine Catalog this mornng and they have both the B2 parts , one is $75 and the other is $45 IIRC .
I am told this is a DIY job as long as you don't mind getting really filthy .

Off the top of my head, this sounds like a B2 piston failure--abrupt loss of forward gears, but reverse works fine. Here's a nice little write-up about symptoms and repairs. If it's a B2 problem, the good news is that the transmission can be fixed without removing it from the car.
