RE: Re: [diesel_mercedes] exhaust & turbo repair today

Thanx , Rob ;

I've been dragging my feet on this job for several years , you may recall my '84 Sports Coupe came to me with (among other maladies) a bound up turbo I was able to coax back to life by dribbling Marvel Mystery Oil on the oil feed pipe whilst hand rotating the dragging impeller ~ in time I bought a cheap used turbo  in Pick-A-Part (and am still kicking myself for not buying the freshly rebuilt one I spotted on a wreck in P-A-P one week before buying my Coupe that would need it) , it's working but I have sluggish off idle performance and continual if reduced smoking that covers the Cove with diesel smoot so I think installing one of Kent's kits as I like the idea of larger thrust area...

It spools up pretty quick now, so even around town it has much more pep, even w/ the AC on MAX. It seems like my impeller has been dragging all these years, robbing needed power.

If you don't want to rebuild yourself, Turbo City in Orange, CA will do it for you for a couple hundred bucks.
