Most of us never think too much about "anti-theft" devices on our diesels. When I ran a souped up 3 carb v-8 I used an electric fuel pump with a hidden cutoff switch to solve the problem. So, what should a diesel head do to prevent theft? Forget the German Shepherd, sleeping in the car, and 12 gauge shotgun stuff. How about a simple tricky solution that defeats thieves.

Wouldn't be hard to steal a diesel. Just take off the vacuum line from the shutoff. Short the glow plugs short the starter & break steering lock. Having a key would make it easier. Lawrence Rhodes.
