Sorry for the late reply Sid ;
I'm out of town to see my ailing Mother . Internet access troubles too .
Anyway , this is where you need to stop and go buy an Owner's Booklet for any OM617 equipped Mercedes as it contains _vital_ information on how to prime the fuel sysem in case you either run out of fuel , or open the system for repairs , or if one of those pesky tiny injector return hoses dries out and begins leaking or falls off as you're happily motoring along far from home....
The NAPA guy is dead wrong , he can order in one or a thousand glow plugs , try a different salesperson .
I'm to far from my catalogs to be of help here but *you* can go to NAPA's pretty good OnLine Catalogs and see what they offer ....
Peach Parts , MBPartsdot somethingoranother all will have the correct glow plugs too .
I hope this isn't your daily driver as it might be down a while whilst you get these replaced , not a chance you'll ever get it re started until you learn the wheres and hows of the hand primer pump as changing the glowplugs without removing the injector pipes requires pixie sized hands...
When we get back to L.A. I have to replace the injectors in Tom's SD , maybe he'll take pix as I do it and we can make up a tutorial .
The hand primer pump is on the left lower front of the injector pump , look for the two fuel lines coming from the back of the car , one leads to a plastic intake screen and thence to the primer pump ~ it may have a white (prolly grimy) plastic wheel on the top with a knurled edge so it's easy to unscrew or it may have a round shouldered black push thing on it's upper end , both work similar but differently...
More in a bit if you wish .
