When I want to find a particular (unknown) part, I always blow up the schematics that Performance Products (successor in Florida) has with a product #. Then it is off to Autohaus AZ to see a blowup picture of the part. Your photo is blurry but I have seen that part before - I think I broke a similar part off in the past.

I found my 1987 300SDL shifting hard today I have not driven it in almost 2 months and opened the hood and realized there was a vacuum line disconnected but in fact had a little plastic thing broken. I am adding the picture as an attachment to this email. hopefully someone can help me. Ive check mercedes source but could not find it. I was by the radiator hose and the diesel filter. It had one vacuum line one one end and the other but one end is broken. Any help would be great.
