Those front brakes are called " Dual Leading Shoe " and it's *very* important you get all the shoes re lined with full length lining .

Dual Leading Shoe brakes, when they're properly set up , work amazingly well but can be a PITA to properly bleed out .

My '59 Metropolitan Nash Fixed head Sports Coupe has these too and for some foolish reason , the bleeder screws are on the _bottom_ brake cylinders meaning you cannot possibly bleed them normally , you have to back fill the system from the bleeder screws .
