[diesel_mercedes] Fuel Economy Check '82 240D Slushbox

 

AC on the entire tankful .   White Bottle Power Service additive used .   275 miles , 26.3 MPG .   Some idling in the driveway while I tested the Central Locking and fooled around with the _STILL_ cruddy cooling system , I've flushed the Citric Acid out FOUR TIMES and still , after a 20 minute freeway run with the heater on full blast , the water gets cruddy again , I can't even see the radiator tubes with a flashlight .   SWMBO's out of town for a week so I've been driving it and flushing once or twice daily , once the water stays clear , I'll add the ZEREX premix coolant I have in the trunk .   It appears yahoo has been preventing me from posting , quite a few replies and intial messages have been eaten by yahoo...   I'll send this one via E-Mail and see if it gets through .   -Nate
