[diesel_mercedes] Re: Why Do Our Mercedes Diesels Create Bucket List for Us?

I only care that mine runs and the doors lock. Last week I had to repair the broken vacuum supply line to the door locks. You know, the one that goes through the little drivers door boot thingy. first vacuum work I have had to do in three years. And that was replacing all the nonfunctional door lock servos with donor parts. Oh yeah, I got the parts from a parts car that cost me nothing to take off another guys hands. Not so much of a bucket list as a bucket full of spare parts. That parts car is now gone and I have another that someone wanted to buy before Christmas. I got real scared at the thought of not having a parts car. I just couldn't afford to have this car without my own private junkyard. Not that I have needed it much.

Still . . .

I have a full set of nearly new tires I found on a 126 in a junkyard in that car. I have vacuum and trim parts.

Oh yeah, I had to replace the battery and heater circulating pump in December. I got a little 12 volt positive displacement pump from harbor Freight (40 bucks) and took out the electric valve because it wasn't getting power. It worked, it just wasn't getting power. The thing is a blast furnace now.

I don't care so much about looks. And I can't afford it anyway. But that 81 wagon and I . . . we're tight.
