When you hire a guy to do work around your house, and he putters around for a couple hours, then says he has to go finish another job, and would it be OK for him to leave a bunch of his tools over there in the corner and points to a couple of tool bags, an old stepladder and an old tarp, and you say sure, and then he asks for half the money up front, watch out. He's not leaving anything valuable in those bags LOL. Anytime they put you in a position of trust and then ask for money...red flag...unless you reallllly want that old stepladder, ratty tarp and a couple of empty bags for $500....
