Re: [diesel_mercedes] Air Locks or What?

I don't have this problem in my 240D because I have old door seals.  One wonders if it makes any difference if the center ventilation slider control, the one that lets outside air come through the center dash vents, is open.

The door seals are "real" door seals, for sure. One thing I learned about my replacement door seals is that they are a "smidgin" larger than the originals, making it more difficult to close. I always have to crack the window now when I close the door from the inside. I'm not happy about that, but putting the new door seal in was such a PIA, I'll live with it.

My 1982 300cd is kind of weird with the door closure thing. Sometimes I think it is because the car is so tight that one of the doors takes some effort to fully close. Other times, I wonder if I have something slightly out of adjustment.

If I roll down one of my windows slightly I find that my doors almost always close better.

Do these car interiors Air Lock?

wait awhile until rust holes appear in the floor.  The doors will be easier to close then.
