I put Amoil ATF in my tranny, and it seems to shift smoother. This is a
replacement tranny, as the original one blew apart. I want it to last
for awhile. The early synthetic motor oils did seems to cause leaks in
older engines, when they first came out, yet that has been dealt with
year's ago. If unsure if the tranny's still good, swap out with generic
dextron atf and a filter, and see if that helps. If it does, then switch
over to synthetic at a later date. That's what I did with the
replacement tranny.
