MB enthusiasts have a magazine called The Star which contains "fix it articles." These articles were compiled some years back into a 370 page book called "Mercedes-Benz Technical Companion" and it is worth having on your shelf, in addition to the Haynes Manual. You can also order the factory manual on CD from Tom Hanson @ the Classic Center. Someone put a lot of that info at this site http://tinyurl.com/3ww4enb
You can also find repair articles on several Wiki sites as well as various forums. Just google Mercedes w123 (or whatever) and then "bookmark" those url's that you like in a folder called MB DIY or some such thing.
There are tons of pages and sites and pictures and help out there for people serious about learning about maintaining and improving Mercedes diesel cars.
PS-you can order back issues of the original Star Magazines (which I did) - they make great reading early in the morning while sitting on the throne.
