Re: [diesel_mercedes] Re : GM Dual Hyr

I had a '65 jetstar 88 conv, when I was a kid, which I frankensteined w/
an olds 455, T-4 tranny, and disk brakes.
It was a fun car, though one night coming back from SF, the brakes went
out, and needing to get back to LA, some passengers had flights that
morning etc, we decided to keep going, using the T-4 tranny with a shift
kit to slow down. Boy that tranny could take a beating. Besides the
hills coming into Santa Barbara, the scariest parts were the repeated
highway patrol cars that followed us all the way home. What if they want
me to stop? What strange drugs might my friends have in their bags? They
never did stop us, just followed us for miles, disappearing, and another
would come up behind us. We made it home. Dumb kids....
