Re: [diesel_mercedes] 300sdl relay images

From hard experience I'd agree with Alan, but then I hate electrical problems. Also there are probably a multitude more issues with the vehicle than are readily apparent that you will only become aware of as you start one or another project...ie one thing leads to another. All this is not to be overly negative because it's all OK if you enjoy working on the car, have a realistic anticipation of its issues and get it for the right price.

The old saying that there is nothing more expensive than a cheap Mercedes still holds.  The only way I'd consider the car would be if there is little or no rust  and the interior was very good.  Used parts are available , but you would probably be wise to invest in the Mercedes Benz Model 126 Service Manual Library CD if you buy the car.  The part number on mine is P-2700-126-099.  The dealers may be able to order them, if not try the MB classic Center.  I don't remember if you mentioned the mileage but obviously, the lower the better.  In any event if you decide to do it I'd offer him 1/2  what he's asking because from the sound of things  you will be facing some major time in sorting out the electrics.
