A diesel in good shape with good glows will start right up no pedal. If you are
having trouble try just cranking. No pedal. If she coughs give some pedal.
Also did you poke around inside to make sure you didn't have little carbon
volcanoes covering your glows. Did you try directly putting 12v battery to the
glows with jumper cables. Then try to start. I am told you can take out an
injector and look down into the glow area and visually inspect for carbon
buildup. If so then ream. Then give it a go again. BTW what happens to the
reamed material. I'm sure the valves just chew it up but is it damaging to the
engine? I experienced squeeky glows as they were unscrewed. I think that is a
sign of carbon. It also took some doing to get them out after being unscrewed.
