Hey Chip, I am old enough too remember the Hudsons, ruling the circle track at Playland Park in Houston,  but the Olds gave them a hard time with the Rocket 88 V8,,IE the Kettering engine, former US Army tank engine for WWII.

  The Hudson Hornet flathead 6 was one bad engine for its day, ran like crazy, you would never know it was a flathead six,, it was the bore an stroke with a decent cam tho.     Doug
