Re: [diesel_mercedes] Re: Additional Fuel Tanks

Two 5 gallon fuel tanks from Costco or Walmart or Kragens will fit on each side in the well if you just want to carry around fuel - which I do if I am traveling in the boondocks. But most of the time I can get 500 miles on a tank and there are a lot of fill up spots in a 500 mile range. My other constraint is that someone will need to pit stop to discharge their bladder at the 350 mile range, so the idea of me making at 1000 mile run without stopping at a station is ridiculous anyway.

Who wants to lose trunk space because they switch to WVO? Not I. It would be painful to lose half or all of my trunk space for a second tank.

So Nate you're saying these were made by Mercedes? And maybe I can still buy one for a 123 new? And for $45- I guess this is a used one? What is the IIRC? That's exactly what my mechanic told me -- they used the unused side well of the trunk. So I'm looking for a factory accessory fuel tank -- thanks!! knowing the name of the part will help find it.
