Saturday last Tom and I were scavenging parts in the local P-A-P in the blazing sun when Tom spotted a W-123 Station Wagon , I ran over to it ~ a 280TE ! European Grey Market I-6 powered car , it had obviously been cherry picked of all the " good stuff " , I got one thing off it and left with tears in my eyes....
Last night I met the nice man who's been doing all this harvesting of parts , he got the _complete_ , correct European rear bumper with Wagon specific trainer hitch including the wires , rubber plugs and body supports no one else ever bothers to get...
He wants WAY too much for the hitch ($350) but it seems he also likes old BMW /5 Motos so mayhap he'll trade me something from my junkyard .
Interestingly , it turns out he lives less than 10 miles from me and I've been driving past his street for 40 + years now .
