I second that. It is a PITA, especially if your supply quality is poor.
In the summer when one of my suppliers is operating, the stuff I get from her can be filtered the same day I pick it up, after being shaken up from dirt roads and 60 miles of travel. I get 95%+ to go through my filtering set up and can do 40 gallons in a couple hours, while other supplers, picked up during the summer and after settling for weeks, can take a day to get a gallon, pour some in when I get up, a little more before leaving for work, clean the first pass filter of big junk and pour some more when I get home, again before going to bed, repeat and maybe get 50%. Not fun.
Cant wait for the summer. The other thing that is cool about my best supplier is she lives near the Pizza Barn in Ossippe NH. The worlds best pizza. As the Phamtom Gormet said "When is it worth driving 2 hours for a pizza ? When you are going to the Pizza Barn"
If you are ever driving up Rt 16 in NH, and you like your pizza loaded with topping, no skimping here, I suggest you stop in. They are not cheap, but well worth the extra money.
