I'd look in tow yards , impound lots , like that as Tom and I were in " Don't Break Down Here West (by God) TEXAS " once with a balky 1978 300CD

And I found the local OPG / Tow place had many interesting old cars including a Mercedes 240D waaayyy in the back of the deep storage lot , past the 25' piles of tree stumps and abandoned farm machinery ....

My point is : I always seem to find the best stuff , cheapest , by looking where no one expects it to be .
