Most tank valve manufacturers do not recommend using such harsh
house hold cleaners in the holding tanks. Those cleaners shorten the
life of the rubber seals on both sides of the opening valve. Chuck B"
Chuck, I am not trying to be smart with my subj answer. However,
contrary to what those manufacturers will tell you, I have been using
Pine based cleaners for over 10 years now and my valves are fine, seal
perfectly, slide open and closed without any issues.
Are the typical seals made of some special rubber or material that
they break down that easily...or maybe my seals are different? Maybe
that old neighbor of mine was replacing seals every year and just
wanted me to suffer?
There are times when common sense prevails arising from actual
experience. Is it possible that this suggestion is a sales pitch?
Even if it were true, PineSol smells great, and our full time coach
back in the 90's had the PineSol treatment for 6 years until we sold
it....no problems.
That's all folks.......
