it looks to me like it may have had detroit iron under the hood and still has a detroit tranny, or at least shift linkage.
I can't get over how it has no rust.

This W-114 Coupe is a dandy one to re power with whatever old drivetrain you have lying around....
 
 
I picture it with an OM617 Turbo Diesel slushbox .
 
It's cheap too ! no SMOG testing ever .

You guys are supposed to pile in all the neighbors, go for a drive, have a picnic or something, but don't forget to look at the right moment. It's such a big deal here, in the sticks(or the bush if you live up north), usually a party that lasts a week.Max
