Oh yes ~ I try not to bother you alls with Farm / Field Fixes but dating back to the 'T' model days , a 1/2" wide paint stripe of flat white latex housepaint around the perimiter of a head gasket , will staunch those pesky oil leaks so many 'T' and 'A' Model Fords & BMC 'B' Series engines seem to always have.....
These fixes work but me , I'm _really_ lazy (just ask Tom who's eyes are rolling just reading this) so I prefer to do things 100 % the first time then I never have to worry about then again ~ I've never changed the clutch in my vehicles more than once no matter how many hard miles I put on them for example .
To - day I have SWMBO's clean '82 240D , I'll install a full set of four Bilstein HD shocks . , then rake leaves & dog poop until my back gives out .
