[diesel_mercedes] Mercedes Coastal Cruise Sat. 2/26
A bunch of Mercedes enthusiasts , mostly Dieselheads , will be meeting up @ Norm's in Sta.Monica @ 07:30 then driving up the coast for abit , in the rain , I expect it'll be fun .
Come see the raggedyest running Mercedes Diesel Coupe ever =8-) .
Then you can dash home again & wipe your baby dry in the garage .

[diesel_mercedes] Looking Good !
To - night after work I installed the $40 European front bumper I scored A Pick-A-Part last Saturday , I've been tinkering with it , disassembled & hand polished it the best it'd go , cleaned & dressed the rubber bits with Meguiar's # 40 , dragged out my various Euro bumper bits and assembled the best supports & clips , screws etc. and
installed it to the front of my '84 Coupe , it's not a cherry but isn't dented nor rusty , looks terrific from 10' away .
Who knows ? maybe I'll buy new rubber ends and have it re - chromed , I hear there's a good chrome shop in El Monte Ca.

Feh ~
Just slow glow your old OM616/617 engine and mind the proper cold starting drill , you'll be happily driving long after that lump has been recycled into a Kia .

Anyway it had a 6 cy. diesel. I asked him to show me the engine, He says " you wont be able to see anything", so he pops the hood and all I could see was a big plastic cover thing, no engine at all. Wow I says, He says he dont do nothing to it because he cant. But he makes so much $ now he just has a mechanic. Wow. But nice car for a rich guy, but not me. The car started at 10 degrees with a 2 sec. glo., My car takes 2 days at 10 degrees to start. And the engine sounds like a gasser, it's so quiet. O my, Max

I tolja this would happen....
I could see selling it (you pretty much GAVE it away) if it was a junker or dead , or all rusted out but it was a fine car .
I'da bought it if I thought it'd go fast enough .

[diesel_mercedes] E 320D CDI
My good buddy from Oregon was just here for a visit. He drove his $50K Mercedes up to my place.( we just had a big snow he had to chain up just to get here) Wow what a car. > My M/B broke down again, I just had the front suspension redonei have been driving it since Thursday and this morning I was driving and i nor\tice my brake pedal acting strange so when I went to make a turn I noticed a loud thump/clack metal sound and the car began pulling to one side, from where the sound came from. No brake grinding noises or anything else but the car sits maybe an inch or two lower then the other front side? Any ideas, I just want to cry... to make things worse I purchased my daughter a little nissan pick up I learned it has a blowen head gasket hopefully that is all.
