[diesel_mercedes] Proper Charging

 


Everything is A-O.K. Max .

@ 30* F , I'd cycle the glow plugs twice and hold the throttle to the floor until all four cylinders are firing .

[diesel_mercedes] Charging System more woes

 



Charge it @ 2 Amperes for 12 hours then you're good to go .

ALWAYS charge batteries at the lowest possible setting , they take a better , deeper charge and ti lower charge rate doesn't beat up and wear  out your battery .

HUCO was the brand i had low voltage issues with .

Almost all In Town miles by SWMBO .

228 miles , 27.8 MPG , NO additives this last tank .

$ 3.339 at the same station that was $3.59 (?) the night before .

391 miles , 23.1 MPG , no AC used , some Startron , I guess one of these days Tom and i have to get serious and build one turbo out of my two spares and MercedesSource kit.....


BTW : I found $3.359 Diesel , hard to do in Los Angeles .

Thanks for the travel supplies tips - I've got a number of the items, but definitely need to get the diesel compatible fuel hoses and clamps. Already have good quality jumper cables, just ran out of diesel clean so will need a few more bottles of that and of course, Startron....
