Re: [diesel_mercedes] Charging System more woes

You could run that charger for 10 hours or more, all night. Max

There were no brushes on it, and only one spring.  I did find one tiny brush bit inside the case of the alt.  I am sure this is the reason my battery wasn't charging lol, but I really will not know until I charge the battery up so I can start the car. I have a 6/2 amp charger that does not shut off automatically.  How long should I put it on for?   Or should I have AAA jump start it, and I could drive in to town and see my Dad? (25-30 miles)

I am looking to trade (or buy) for a left side headlight bezel for my 1981 300SD. I have a parts car that is almost complete except for, you guessed it, the headlight bezels. If anyone has an extra bezel and needs some other part, let's trade. Let me hear what you need. I am in southern Arizona so large parts might be a problem. Thanks for your help.

Charge it overnight then go see your dad. He will enjoy seeing you. The battery should be charged by the time you are home

I charge until I hear gas bubbles popping inside the cells; check it once an hour. At 6 amps that will take less than 50 hours

Got my new HUCO Voltage regulator in.  Old one seems as generic as they come. No markings except a little 03  252 stamped on a plane black cap.
