So ;
I cleaned the fuel sender in my Coups and did such a great job the low fuel lamp failed to come on so I ran it out of fuel (oops), my brother and i went to an outlying junkyard where I found a once nice 1984 300D that was veggie oiled to death, as I was pulling the fuel sender out some young guy was taking a W124 speedo apart in the dirt next to us and when my brother told him i had three nice W123's, onebeing a Coupe he got all excited and asked me to sell it .
I laughed as :
A. it's not for sale, it's my beloved daily driver .
B. a worthless old battered pile of junk that anyone who looked at it would think "parts only and very few at that" .
I got the fuel sender and will test it before I take it apart for cleaning, every piece of the fuel system was coated with waste veggie oil sludge, you shoulda seen the inside of the fuel filler cap ! .
I got lucky and bought the dash gauge binnacle, foe once it wasn't broken or scratched, clear face ripped off etc.....
I also bought the pristine inside rear view mirror and the electric passenger side mirror as I smacked the Coupe's passenger side mirror on the trash bin once too many times and it stopped working, I'm hoping I can swap out the guts/gears/motor/whatever .
Does anyone know how to remove the power mirror' glass without damaging it ? .
There's gotta be a tutorial, I know I figured it out by breaking a few years ago, now I only have one spare for parts and don't want to crack/break the glass part.....
TIA,
-Nate
