It's a cast pulley. I need to swap it out with the double.

Please take and post photos of it, I'm keen to see if it comes with a pulley and if so, which one as this alternator fits a slew of Mercedes' up to the 1993 model year .

I'm looking for a junk alternator to grab a good used single sheave pulley off of .

O.K. then .

The original 55 Amp. one is the AL80X, not very popular these days .

A 65 Amp. direct replacement is AL117X, you use your old pulley and this one fits various Mercedes up to the 1992 year model so it should be cheap to find  a good used one and slap in a new BOSCH brand regulator and be off to the races with brighter lights and better charging, best of all it fits the original brackets .

I expect to install one of these on an OM617 engine very soon so maybe wait to make sure I know what I'm talking about before $pending any Lolly .

[diesel_mercedes] Another Busy Day

Last night I schlepped down to SWMBO's house and shampooed the drop in carpet covers, to - day I cleaned and cleaned under the carpets, vacuumed up half of the Sta. Barbara beach then scrubbed the seats and took the driver's side original carpet out and was able to remove the old glued in place Velcro strips, the glue softened up as I was shampooing it , took some time  to pic it all out but that carpet now looks close to brand new again and the foam under layment isn't cracked and falling apart like most are .

I raised up the third seat and scrubbed the charcoal mat in the back footwell, it too was dirty, I used an old toothbrush in all teh cervices nooks and crannies, them the bumpers bothered me so I polished them using 'Never - Dull' <magic> wadding, did the antenna mast too then oild it with "Zoom Spout" and not it goes up and down smoother than before and looks better too so I then polished the mirrors and of course the grille then I decided to hand wash the whole car, it really does look nice when it's all clean and tidy .

Some random guy stopped me before dawn and asked me if I'd restored it my self, it doesn't look anywhere near restored to me but folks keep asking about it so it must be getting there .

Maybe next year I can afford to get the bumpers re chromed .

Lastly I cleaned out the box I carry in the way back, it had been collecting this and that bit by bit and had three quarts of oil (one was leaking, gah) and SWMBO's collection of saved grocery bags , most of those went in the trash the better qulity once got carefully folded and re stored .

Removed the tiny boost pressure gauge, aired up the tires and it's nearly ready to show off at the three auto events I have to - morrow .

The Monthly Mercedes Club meeting is @ McDonald's on Foothill Blvd. in Tujunga, 5PM .

It's amazing how clearly I can now see my gauges at night after carefully taking apart and cleaning every inch of the damaged binnacle in my 300TD ~ this photograph doesn't o it justice, I don't know how to adjust the cell 'phone camera for low light pictures but it's very do able .
