[diesel_mercedes] It's TURBO TIME !

Overhaul , that is =8-) .

Last night on my way home from work I stopped at a traffic light and as I waited , a Gardener's pickup pulled up next to me , as I glanced at the battered old thing a cloud of blue smoke drifted forward past my elbow out the window ~ I said to the gardener " I suppose that's _my_ smoke ? " .

He replied " Si , Senor , oil smoke , your engine is shot " .

Sigh .

I'm hoping it's mostly turbo seals oil getting past and burned .

[diesel_mercedes] Re: Here we go again....... Fuel Fungus

Oddly enough ;

After all the terrible fungus issues this car has had (remember me lurching to a halt in front of a Korean Church on Sunday morning ?) ,
I've continued dosing it regularly , every fillup .

I bet I'm not putting in enough ~ in a moment I'll go dose it again , I have 1/2 tank of fuel now .

As Tom will attest , it matters not what I'm driving nor where ~ i can be in TEXAS in my old Chevy pickup and feel the fuel filter clogging up as we drive & have to pull over and change it .

Re: [diesel_mercedes] Re: Turbo Overhaul

I'm going for the Mercedesource kit too. It doesn't seem hard at all
now, as I have the parts car turbo apart, and ready to be rebuilt. The
impellers look fine. The hardest part was getting the bolts out of the
exhaust side of the turbo, as two were stuck.

Nate,

Fungus again? We don't know how you do it.
Maybe you should use Startron on a regular basis.
