It is the old name of a Computer Aided
Design/Manufacturing/Engineering/Simulation... software. It was one of
the first "parametric" software packages that you can design things with
variables. For example an elevator company had used it to design any
elevator. Just put in the numbers of floors, weight, size, doors on
both sides... and you will get the elevator system for any building
designed and the bill of materials completed in minutes.
It was used for cars, airplanes, buildings, etc.
The name was Pro/Engineer for years. Now it is called Creo.
