O.K.;
I was driving on the I-210 freeway when I heard a faint clicking noise, by the time I was home it was banging away like mad so I parked it and removed the sump and oil screen (pic.#1) , found lots of mushy black stuff in there (a bad thing) plus some gold colored metal flakes you can see if your Monitor is good enough, prolly the copper backing of the rod bearing .
Pic. #2 is my Brother looking wondering where the engine went in only 15 minutes ? .

Pics. # 4 & 5, this is the basic 1192 C.C. 36 horsepower VW engine used from 1954 ~ 1960 in America, longer in other countries .
Pic. # 6 is the crispy and paper thin muffler that now on it's way to Sunshine Canyon Landfill
