[diesel_mercedes] W123 Steering Wheel

 

What to do ? .

Every time I think I've found a good one it turns out to e worthless .

I finally bought one vie internet photos, they guy now claims he never saw and cracks (!) ~ I went back and looked at his photo, he carefully shaded the top 1/3 of the wheel right where the wear always occurs .

Dammit .

He says he'll take it back but *I* got stuck for the shipping both ways .

I don't suppose and of max's rusty relics have decent steering wheels ? .

I'd have this one rebuilt but I cannot find anyone who can do so .

[diesel_mercedes] High Idle

 

Intake Oil leak from _where_ Henry ? .

Wouldn't the intake and ALDA tube be wet with oil if there was a leak ? .

The smoke appears to be black, indicating excess fuel to me .

Good. It took a long time. I had a 3/4 ton 55 Chevy 2WD with a hand crank lift gate. It had belonged to a appliance shop in Portland Oregon.It also had a very sloppy front end that when loaded was hard to steer or go faster than 50mph. Very low geared.  I hauled over a 100 cords of wood in that truck tho. Kind of miss it.Max

I was getting water in the trunk from a small hole under the rear windshield seal. Since then, I cleaned and sealed that up. The worst part was the moisture coming into the cabin, and fogging up all the windows.

My 1982 240D's trunk always gets water in the passenger side well, now everything in the truck is getting mildewed or beginning to rust .

The engine also lopes at idle .

The odometer died in August so I have no idea what my fuel economy is currently .

I guess it's time to stop being afraid of killing it and try to install and time the spare I.P. I took from a suer clean 1985 year model wreck last year .

I hope this comes through, yahoo's having problems this morning, it won't populate the address field as it usually does .
