[diesel_mercedes] Monrovia/El Monte PAP

 

For whatever it is worth department - I was at the Monrovia/El Monte PAP today. They cleared space for 30 to 50 vehicles in the Euro section. I went to the area where they take the cars once their title clears muster out into the general area. But, I did not see much of anything so can only wonder where they are going to pull the cars to fill up  30-50 slots. If anyone walks that PAP in the next few days and sees some MB's, give a yell.

[diesel_mercedes] Routine Turbo Overhaul

 



Well you never know Brian ;

I might discover it's not a bad job , wait and see .

Damien (my freind who just died) tried his hand at rebuilding a turbo and it by passed oil and so smoked a fair good bit after he was finished although the car ran much better....

If this happens to me , I'll prolly never touch another one because it's a seriously fiddly job to remove or replace the turbocharger .

There are several oil grommets and O-Rings that should be changed any time it's off the car , replacing those really dried up the oil dripping on my and Tom's 'Benzes .

But, I have never been happy with Mary's turbo since the engine got changed out, and I know I have an ongoing oil leak that needs to be cured. BTW - only one w123 in the Ontario PAP. Things are getting slim. This week I will put 4 muffler hangers (with chains) on Mary, 2 right door striker plates on, 1 new left rear door check on Martha, and 1 new hood pad on Mary. Done all this before so it is just a case of getting excited enough to roll out the door and take care of business.
