424 miles , Startron added , 24.1 MPG .

I really need to do that turbo but I have two cars apart for major repairs and I only have two runners now so I don't want to take it apart just yet....

It's been a MONTH since I ordered up a gallon of Startron from West marine , they keep giving me excuses why it's not here yet , this is BULLSHIT .

Yes , my fuel intake screen is still black(ish) . not as dark as it used to be but DAMN ! I can't get the fungus out of this car .

Re: [diesel_mercedes] Digest Number 6104

Nate,

Yes, HDs. I've definitely put these to use too, yet thought they'd last
a bit longer.

Re: [diesel_mercedes] D-Jet FUN (?)

One of the main causes for the scrapping of  VW's Vanagons (Digijet, Digifont) are fires caused by those little short hoses at the injectors cracking and leaking.  Damn things catch fire as they're being driven down the highway, the driver unaware of the calamity unfolding behind him as he's fanning the flames at 65-plus mph.

Hey ;

That's great Mike ! .

I hope you've taken the time to also replace the fuel filter and EVERY BIT of the flexible fuel hoses the car is full of ? .

Even the short hose bits on each and every injector ! you'll have to cut away the crimped collars on a few of the hoses (ALL of the injectors)  and buy some new , CORRECT band typ fuel hose clamps (IIRC the correct hose is 7 MM ID) , this takes a lot of labor but failure to do so will CAUSE A HORRIBLE FUEL FIRE ! .

I am not kidding here ~ I used to tell my D-Jet Customers to do this every two years and a few always didn't want to bother , the cars caught on fire and were mostly beyond economical repair so think hard before you skip this .
