Also, make sure you get the right length of door.  One off of an SEL will be too long for an SD or SE.

1. It is heavy so a muscle bound helper is good to have handy.
2. Alignment after it is put on can be a trial and error process to get that good "thunk" sound once it is installed. Be patient.
3. Don't be afraid to visit a MB body shop and ask.

Naw.  The Germans have far too much taste for that.  It was probably put on by a previous owner, maybe a dealer.  You could (and maybe, still can) get those gold emblem kits on the aftermarket.  They're all over ebay and Amazon.

Thanks for the info. Alignment is at the hinge? Nearest MB shop is 100 miles. Next time I'm in local town, will stop at body shop and ask.
