[diesel_mercedes] Fuel Milage Check 1984 300CD Auto W/ AC
[diesel_mercedes] WELCOME ROGO !
You'll find the max fuel economy is a blend of speed and RPM's , the W-123 chassis doesn't like over 55 MPH for top fuel economy , the W-126 chassis is far slipperier in the aerodynamic ratio so it'll get better fuel economy at higher speeds .
When I'm traveling far with SWMBO , I usually keep my W-123's cruise control set to 60 MPH , AC on cold and it gives good economy .
YMMV ! .

[diesel_mercedes] WELCOME HOME JOE !
Of Course the new fangled Electronic Fuel Injection gives you better fuel economy whilst also providing more power and lower exhaust emissions .
However , it'll never last as long as our old OM616 & OM616 cars do...

[diesel_mercedes] Re: Dog days of summer
No kidding ! .
I'm old , fat & broken so it's really tough , I've been sorting out the central locking on two of our W-123's , it appears that The Classic Center sent me a wrong vacuum pod .

I might check and top off the fluids or change a little broken plastic part, but heavy duty lifting with sweat pouring down my head is better when the temps are 60-80F, with a little mist in the air. So, come on October, I am ready for you.

Chuck ;
They're nice Road Missiles aren't they ? =8-) .
Easing off the loud pedal to 65 MPH should jump you right up to 30 + MPG's right away .

Nate, I checked on the drive home last night. 3100 = 70 mph in the SD. What is the mph in 300D? 300D turbo diesel?
