Don't forget the valve adjust and 4Oz . of white bottle Diesel Kleen .
Even my clapped out '79 300CD started easily in 40° F temps if I followed the drill closely .
The light bulb is a good idea .

Did not comprehend fully how pleasant the sunny So. Cal. "one cycle" glow plug sequence was when overnight temps dipped down into the 60's - got spoiled I guess. Have started putting a 100 watt bulb in the engine compartment overnight, and may do the block heater routine if the next 4 months don't get toasty. Guess I may have to re-learn how to drive in the snow again too.
