I wish I was allowed to listen to the videos but just watching it was cool as the camera person knew what to do , I imagine even my crusty old Coupe would look good in this video .

RE : the film within the video : yes , W-123's really do go that fast and handle that well , ask Tony who had a breif ride in my Coupe before I rebuilt the engine and it still moved right along .

I guess that tester's car was broken as it says top speed 102 MPH , I've have every 300 series up to 125 with throttle left , I get scared at those speeds .

Even our 240D went 83 MPH @ WFO although it took a while to get there .

Great , _fun_ to drive and simple to maintain cars these are ! .

[diesel_mercedes] Fuel guage Maladies , 84/85 Euro 300TD

 


It turns out she was (as usual) panicing , I'd filled it and by 50 miles +/- the gauge was still pegged so I added a 1/3 bottle of Startron and drove it a couple times , to - day I took it out on errands and made a point of going fast through dips etc. to slosh the beejeebers out of the fuel , tank and gauge sender float , by the time I hit 100 miles the gauge's needle had moved off " F " . so it's good to go as always .

This thing is a rocket ship ! we loaded it full of us and Teenaged Foster boys last night and went out for pizza across town , it still accelerated from a dead stop like a cork from a bottle .

If it was a stick shift I *know* it would easily lay rubber , Michelin Defender tires and all .

It is also a mild Cetane booster .

I need to add some to my Ladys Wagon as the fuel gauge is stuck near " full " .

Is there any chance that the startron helps with performance? Seems a little peppier today?
Damn, got parking lotted today, small crease in the rear fender, gonna have to see how good my government run auto insurance is.
