I will sell anything off of them but I can't do much myself anymore. More than simple I would have to get someone to remove it. Just to let you all know know. The 1981 turbo could be restored if someone wanted to. Max

[diesel_mercedes] Re: Max's Troubles

Thanks, both my engines are newer, actually one is a factory Mercedes new engine installed by Mercedes, the other re-built, almost seems to run better. I guess folks want stuff for free. I've always paid a bit more(not much) and gotten something I know is not going to be trouble.Moth balling is OK. Check this out, I just (last week)drove back home from Lake Tahoe with one of my boys in his 99 Outback ran the AC most of the way, 70 to 80mph most times. The car got average 27mpg.16 1/2 hour drive, he drove the whole way. Better than my 02 Legacy. Max

[diesel_mercedes] ABS sensort fix and info

Hi all.
so, we got the wonky ABS sensor on the left front of my SDL issue fixed:

it turns out, the newly manufactured parts, have a small difference in
molding the casing, and, it can't seat deep enough to get a good read on the
motion ring.
We decided it was too far to read accurately, so looked and looked, and
decided to "whittle" down the shoulder, about 2mm, to get it closer (1mm,
got better so went for 2mm).
Now, it seems to work fine!

So I guess a "heads up" for parts, made for out old cars, and how design
parameters can change, just slightly, and mess it up.

Re: [diesel_mercedes] What do I need to fix the Idler arm. 83 240D

I've not done it, but it seems a pretty inexpensive (cheap) fix.

I'm not sure what I need. I'm told it's loose and can't be aligned. It's not
too expensive. Just replace it all? Lawrence Rhodes......
