I finally got around to replacing the neutral safety switch. The car now starts every time. Drove it to Tucson (200 miles round trip) on Monday and did not have any problems. Replacing the switch turned out to be a very easy job. As was suggested, I was very careful removing the electrical connection. It was very very brittle. Also made sure that the new switch mechanism was lined up the same as the old one before installation. Thanks for all the advice and suggestions. This is such a great site.
