So this rather large guy was drooling over my 300D and asked if he could sit in it, he slid the drivers seat back, & now it wont come as far forward as before. It seems to come up against a hard stop. It is raining out so I thought asking what to look for was easier than going out and getting soaked. Any tips???

[diesel_mercedes] Re: seat slide
Open door , kneel down on the ground & lift the front seat adjuster with your left hand and push the seat forwards with your right .
It is possible he used the side seat adjuster handle , this also slides the seat fore and aft but is used to adjust the overall seat height....
TIP : keep other people away from your car if you value it ! .

[diesel_mercedes] Re: Tires and fuel economy
I usually ran the Toyos overinflated and still only got 28.5mpg on isolated highway runs with the cruise control. I didn't push the inflation on the Nokians beyond whatever the tire shop inflated them to so the driving style and terrain were pretty much identical for the two trips. Since that weekend the mileage has dropped but my driving has reverted back to local around town driving. The numbers aren't conclusive yet but it looks like I'm getting as good around town on the Nokians as I did on the highway with the Proxxes 4's. *I multiply the miles driven by 1.0351 to adjust for the slightly taller tires*.
