[diesel_mercedes] Re : A Better Plan

You're welcome to visit Scenic California, Land Of Fruits , Nuts & Flakes , I just don't like people inside my house is all .

Folks get an invite and then get pissy when they can't use the bathroom .

Oddly , no one from Down East ever complains , especially since I tell all visitors well in advance , NO BATHROOM .

Come on by ! we'll hit all the good P-A-P's around here , find good parts cheap , adjust your valves & change your oil & filter .

Eat well after too .

Re: [diesel_mercedes] Re : A Better Plan

Come on down!  I LOVE to cook!  I have plenty of room...summer camp hasn't started yet, Kevin's got 40 some odd buildings, bunk houses, cabins and 40 motel rooms over at camp that are empty.  It's gonna be around 80 degrees every day this week!  It's spring here...the bluebonnets, which are the state flower are blooming profusely this year.

BTW, as much as I hate to shop, I am forcing myself to keep looking for a MB to love.  I'll be sooo much more careful next time!

Re: [diesel_mercedes] Re : On Loaning Tools

My dad was a civil engineer and had a nice workshop he built himself.  He had a place for everything and that's what it was kept.  His shop was kept clean and neat.  He NEVER EVER loaned out anything.  I do recall he let someone mow the lawn for him...I think it's when his neck was broken, we had an electric mower and you guessed it, they ran over the cord!  DUH.  When he got older and lived alone neighbors "borrowed" stuff and it never came back.

I'm not in the habit of loaning out stuff.  I VERY MUCH APPRECIATE the loan of the wrenches.  I did not look in the box before I shipped it...I assumed that Kevin cleaned the wrenches after using them.  I do remember him saying he was careful to keep the book clean. :)

Kevin will loan out just about anything and it drives me crazy!  He loaned our favorite movie to someone and they lost it.  It's difficult to find and you have to be of a particular taste to "get" Rosencrantz and Guildenstern are Dead" and the people he loaned it to were more into movies like "Hangover".

On Sun, Apr 1, 2012 at 10:59 PM, Nate <vwnate1@yahoo.com> wrote:

_I_ never said anything like that but it's true , I DO NOT LOAN OUT TOOLS because folks never seem to get the concept that they fed & clothed my family for many many years...

When a tool comes back damaged or worse yet , not at all , no one yet , in nearly 60 years , has offered to go replace it or even PAY for the damned thing .

" why are you so upset Nate ? it's just an old tool " - never mind they'd convinced me to part with an unobtanium brandy new tool I looked 20 years to find...

Oops . ranting again .

Good on Trish , better on Chip for having faith to loan tools .
