[diesel_mercedes] next year's chevy cruze turbo diesel

anyone aware of the current outgoing, and incoming chevy cruze td? 50mpg.... golly.
still can't afford it.

anyone buy any brands of wrecked newer diesels and stuff them into older benz's?

i know i haven't been on here awhile. any retrofiting of urea injection/tanks to older model diesels or anything to bring nox down on old w126 6 cyl TDs?

the only thing i was told would reduce nox was to retard the fuel pump on a w123 5 cyl TD.

hope nobody has croaked.

I need to find a junked W116 (hint) , it needn't run , I need to remove some ' non wear parts off it's engine in case anyone finds on in a California Junk Yard or has one languishing beside the garage.....

TIA , remember me in two years as I work slowly..... - Nate

[diesel_mercedes] EGR Valve

O.K. ;

My car has had very slow boost pressure rise when I throttle up so in frustration I simply yanked the hose off the EGR valve and the ' air by pass valve ' (?! I dunno, that's what it's called on the vacuum hose sticker)  and Lo ! I am rewarded with almost instant boost as soon as I apply any throttle , more power , faster acceleration and less smoking .

Progress although it's still not as goo as I know it can be .

[diesel_mercedes] Engine Rotation

Bogy ;

The timing chain can jump a tooth if you rotate the engine back wards .

This would be a very bad thing indeed .
