[diesel_mercedes] Re: 240 blowing alternators

 


Yes, one would think. My car will last for years with the alternator and then go out. I've never figured out the problem, but I am pretty sure SOME of these cheap voltage regulators are the problem. Try buying a good regulator and see if that helps. Max

Yeah, could be something's going on here.  I would suggest having it diagnosed by an electrical shop.  AutoZone will hook up their little portable tester for no charge, but, it may not reveal subtle or intermittent problems.
