Nate, anyone that insults you or calls you names, you just refer them to me, I will straighten them out - & tell them how right they are.

None of the local parts stores in my LA neighborhood had one. A few of the people never heard of them. Orchard Supply Hardware had one for $7, but that took me a while!

Re: [diesel_mercedes] Re: Brake Bleeder Wrenches
Caution - those come in odd size combination - if you want 5/16 and 1/4 you have to buy two different wrenches.
Dumb question - doesn't MB come with metric - the metric sizes at Amazon are cheaper?

[diesel_mercedes] Re: Overheating 300sd
Thanks, I have replaced the thermostat, the temp sender, the temp switch for the aux fan. The heater hoses were just a result of age and the weather. All the replacements have fixed or corrected little problems. But the auz fan switch is still not turning on the aux fan. Even though the fan works if jumped.
So I may just permanently jump the wires, or I may try a new aux fan switch. I will drive it for a few days, and then decide. I think the switch is around $40. iirc
But as a preventative measure with this heat, I may replace the radiator also.
Thanks
Chuck

sorry it was rude not to add my name to the reply.
northern tool also has some, and will ship to store, if the local store does not have them.

[diesel_mercedes] Re : Driver side power windows
Yes , they can be taken apart & cleaned , maybe first find a Gas Station air hose with the squeezy thing on the end and use that to blow the switch out , they often are full of crap and dust etc. .
Electro-contact cleaner works O.K. too but nothing is going to be as good is dismounting the switch and every so carefully taking it apart and hand polishing the contacts inside it...

[diesel_mercedes] Re: Is that a new paint job? !! UPDATE Questions
Its been a couple weeks, and I have a couple questions....
How is it holding up ? Does the rain bead like wax ?
Have you attempted to wax over it, or would you just go with a refresh coat ?
Many Thanks
Steve

To that I used Bar Keeper's Friend in conjunction and started in on my top surfaces, trying to clean things down to the original paint and get the blotches out. I was not 100% successful, but it looked pretty good. At this point, my paint was extremely dull.
