Thanx fellas ! .
I'll have to jack it up and take a look, I didn't install the new tranny mount because I didn't overhaul the tranny, as far as I know, Victor only uses factory M-B parts unless they're no longer available .
Back when the Diesel craze was going on this was a common problem and there were many detailed posts about how to properly adjust it .
I guess I'll just have to take a look and see what I can do .
To - day was productive, I did a hot oil and filter change then I pulled up my big boy pants and finally adjusted the IP's vacuum rod, I was really worried I'd snap off the delicate and N.L.A. plastic clip but it came off O.K. then I popped the oddly shaped rod off, loosened the 8MM ATF jamb nut and carefully turned the ball socket 360 degrees clockwise, shortening it a fraction, snugged up the jamb nut, lubricated the ball joint and re assembled, it now shifts at a lower RPM, something I've been desiring for a while now .
As usual, I was worried I'd do it wrong and in the end it was fairly simple .
I don't think there's a drive shaft / U-Joint problem because it vibrates when I'm stationary in gear .
Then I began testing for a central locking vacuum leak, I began under the hood and my old MityVac tool couldn't hold so I couldn't really test it much, I noticed the two yellow pipes from the firewall didn't fit snugly to the yellow one way vacuum valve (any time you can easily pull off a rubber hose it's BAD), replaced the two short bits of rubber hose there and took the MityVac tool back to Autozone where they replaced it with a different brand one that also doesn't hold more than 5" of vacuum, oh well, at least I have a newer tool that holds _some_ vacuum, simply replacing the two short bits of hose makes it hold vacuum for a few minutes and shows me that the passenger side rear door takes longer to lock than the others do, want to guess where my vacuum leak is ? .
A good way to start isolating vacuum problems is to go into the driver's door and pull the three lines off of the controller. One should have vacuum when the engine is running and the other two should each hold vacuum One's open and the other is close. I have vacuum, which means my reservoir and supply are good, but neither of my other lines holds vacuum. Now it's time to go into it further. does anyone have a link to the video on how to pursue this?
