Nate,
Behind the gauge face there's a copper actuator the expands to move the gauge pointer. Mine was leaking, so I took it all apart, and replaced it.
I found in taking the gauge apart, one of the traces on the circuit board broke, so the now the dash lights aren't working right. I bought a circuit repair pen which hopefully fixes this, otherwise, I'll need to get an appropriate soldering iron and fox it, or find another board from a gauge.

I'm not clear on what you actually did to repair the gauge....
I bought new dash speakers from The Classic Center (thanx Tom !), they went right in but I cannot get the front leading edge of the grille's tab to hook in so it's popped up a tiny bit....GRrrrrrrrrrr.
HAPPY FOURTH OF JULY ! .
Thanx for celebrating Mom's birthday =8-) .
