[diesel_mercedes] Fuel Filter Bolt Seal #

O-Kay then ! .

It came in this morning , from the Whse. in Fontana .

There were two types listed in the Catalog , early and late , the early version turns out to be an O-Ring , I can't imagine an O-Ring there not leaking profusely so I took the later version ones , P/N N007603-018101

" N " numbers are standard repair parts, seals , fasteners , nuts & bolts etc. , etc. so maybe could be gotten from a VW or Porsche Dealer as they use " N " service parts too .

The doubled the price on me but I just said " THANK YOU ! " and paid as I need the things .

They're copper now , originals were all aluminum .

I don't know how soon I'll get it installed , hopefully to - morrow morning .

Cleaning up my living room yielded some new tool kit wrenches , _one_ is the elusive 19 X 22 MM one used to change Secondary Fuel Filters with so only one more and I'll have sufficient for all three cars .

I'm trying to gather up all my tool kit wrenches so I can assemble comprehensive tool kits for each car , I actually use them in my travels .

Remind me to post up the special Diesel resistant O-Ring the bolt uses 1/2 along it's length .

Maybe the next time Tom comes by we can take some photos and make a file up for future reference .

My bet is , this is a once in a lifetime deal to need but when you need them , you'll _NEED_ them .

It was 108* in Pasadena to - day , not fun to be working on cars but no one else offered so I did what I had to do .

The fan in my Coupe isn't running full tilt boogie constantly , mayhap
it is time for me to begin servicing some fans for the various cars we have as it got plenty HOT in there to-day .

[diesel_mercedes] Re : I Need A 240D Engine?

I'm not sure ;

In the long run , *if* it's all good , it's a bargain but kinda $pendy for a 4 cylinder methinks .

I also hate to separate original parts unless absolutely necessary as the serial #'s will no longer match .

[diesel_mercedes] Re: Coolant Mix

Yes, gotta watch the hard water, it can really plug stuff up. 50/50 is the best for north and less for south. Remember water cools better that antifreeze but the anti does have boil-over protection stuff in it. I was born in San Gabriel, don't remember the water tho. Max
